Graduate Visa (SC485)
This is a temporary visa for those international students who have completed studies in Australia and have met certain requirements. This visa allows the applicant to live and work full time in Australia during its validity. You will see below two of the streams available:
1. Post Vocational Education Work stream
2. Post Higher Education Work stream

1. Post Vocational Education Work stream
This stream is for international students who have completed vocational studies in Australia for at least two academic years (92 weeks). The qualification must be closely related to an occupation listed on the Medium and Long-Term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL) under LIN 19/051, and a skills assessment is required.
Eligiblity requirements:
- Age Limit: Applicants must be 35 years old or younger.
- Skills Assessment: A provisional skills assessment must be submitted at the time of application.
- English Proficiency: Evidence of meeting the required English level must be provided, issued within the past 12 months.
- Police Clearance: Proof of having applied for Australian police records is required.
- Health Insurance: Applicants must hold valid health insurance
2. Post Higher Education Work stream
This stream is available for graduates who have completed a degree from an Australian higher education institution. The qualification must align with an occupation listed in LIN 19/051.
Other requirements:
- Age Limit: Applicants must be 35 years old or younger.
- Eligible Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Graduate certificate
- Graduate diploma
- Master’s degree (by coursework or research)
- Doctoral degree (PhD)
- English Proficiency: Evidence of meeting the required English level, issued within the past 12 months, is required.
- Police Clearance: Proof of having applied for Australian police records is necessary.
- Health Insurance: Applicants must maintain valid health insurance
This visa provides an excellent opportunity for international graduates to gain work experience and potentially transition to a longer-term or permanent visa
