Notice of Intention to Consider Cancellation (NOICC)

In certain circumstances,

The Department may issue a Notice of Intention to Consider Cancellation (NOICC) to an applicant if serious factors have been identified in their case. These factors may include the applicant’s criminal record, the provision of false or misleading information, breaches of visa conditions, or situations where the original reasons for granting the visa no
longer apply.

Upon receiving a NOICC, the applicant will be given a timeframe of 5 to 28 days to provide a response and address the issues raised. Visa cancellation is a serious matter, as it can result in significant consequences, including bans
on being granted future visas. Depending on the grounds for cancellation, the exclusion period can range from three years to a permanent ban. It is crucial for applicants to respond to a NOICC promptly and with sufficient evidence to mitigate the risks of cancellation.
